Scottish Junior Alpine Development Group

Who?

Anyone born 1996 or older who wants to keep ski racing.  You may have completed CH2 but that is just the start..........

Where?

Home and Abroad – we organise weekend and midterm training and race cover in Scotland and camps in Europe and further afield – traditionally we have organised a camp in Tignes in October; variety of places at Christmas including Norway, Austria, USA and Meribel in Easter.  This year we organised a very successful summer camp in Scotland in conjunction with the Scottish Ski Team.

 Why?

We believe it is really important to encourage everyone to keep training and developing after you have left Children’s races.  You will find that FIS races are different and therefore the training and coaching is geared to helping you make the transition between children’s racing and FIS races – the coaches are experienced with Junior racers – they know the circuit and they know how best to prepare you and get you into FIS races (as best as they can!) and fulfil your potential at this level.

This not only gives Junior racers the opportunity to continue with ski racing; to learn the skills and gain the experience to compete at this level; but also the opportunity to train alongside the national team.  All of this serves as an excellent development pathway toward consideration for team selection and has resulted in some trainees becoming full time members of the team.

How can I find out more?

This year as well as our normal weekend training at Cairngorm, we are going to be working alongside the Glenshee Performance Squad at Glenshee. This is an exciting move for us and we are looking forward to offering coaching that meets the need of the individuals and gets them access to appropriate training and races. If you are interested why not take a look at what’s on offer...
